I know everyone’s a hypocrite these days so whatever but imagine if a Republican did this the NYT would have a soft focus profile of the cop who was hit with a sandwich featuring no fewer than four photographs of him gazing out a window looking sad and NPR would have a breakdown of the chemical ingredients in the lunch meat and strongly imply that thousands of people would get cancer as a result of the incident and the Atlantic would have 20,000 words about The Racist History of Foodfights highlighting the lunch counter battles of the Civil Rights era and interviews with other people who had been victims of Sandwich Violence.
