Why is real-time proving necessary for blockchains to trust each other? In a future with thousands of blockchains, it’s not practical for every chain to track and verify the full history of every other chain. The communication overhead would be massive, and the network relationships too dynamic - new chains appear, old ones disappear. At our Ethproofs Summit in Berlin, @0xPolygon and @ziskvm co-founder @jbaylina explains a more scalable alternative: instead of following each other’s blocks directly, every chain produces a proof attesting to the validity of its current state. This proof is small, fast to verify, and can be checked by any other chain without replaying the entire transaction history. The impact is twofold: • Cross-chain trust without full sync: Any chain can validate another chain’s state simply by verifying its proof. • Massively scalable multi-chain ecosystems: The approach works even if there are thousands of chains, because verification cost stays constant.
